Everett motorcyclist dies in wreck near Mount Vernon

MOUNT VERNON -- An Everett motorcyclist died this afternoon after a crash west of here.

The man, 29, was westbound on Highway 536 on a 2009 Honda Sport about 4 p.m., Washington State Patrol trooper Keith Leary said. Witnesses reportedly told troopers he was driving erratically. A short time later, the bike struck the side of a sports utility vehicle turning into a driveway.

The motorcyclist died at the scene, Leary said. His name hasn't been released. Troopers this evening were trying to find his next of kin.
