Rally in Everett Friday to support Boeing tanker jobs
SCBJ staff
EVERETT -- Bids for the U.S. Air Force refueling tanker contract are due this Friday and U.S. Sen. Patty Murray will lead a rally in support of Boeing's proposed 767-based tanker.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Machinists Hall, 8729 Airport Road, Everett.
Join Sen. Murray, congressional leaders, labor representatives, Boeing Co. officials, local elected officials and others at the rally.
Boeing's NewGen tanker is expected to create and retain some 50,000 U.S. jobs, many of which will be in Everett at the Boeing factory where the 767 is already assembled.
