The first 10 seniors to arrive have the opportunity to work with Reach out to Snohomish Seniors, a student group from Snohomish High School, that plans to help seniors decorate prepared cookies to take home. Marines seek toys for holiday toy drive The United States Marine Corps invites the public to participate in the Toys for Tots Campaign. Marines plan to greet the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 13 at Haggen stores in Stanwood, Arlington, Marysville and Lake Stevens. Edmonds seniors offer bazaar and bake sale The South County Senior Center offers a holiday bazaar and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 220 Railroad Ave., Edmonds. The event features baked goods, woodworking crafts, fine arts, handmade items including infant and children's clothing, knitted hats and scarves, baby and lap blankets, jewelry and accessories. Some veterans eligible for special pension Aegis of Bothell wants the public to know that some veterans may be eligible for the aid and attendance special pension, a benefit not dependent on service-related injuries for compensation. The pension can help pay for care in the home, nursing home or assisted living community for veterans and surviving spouses who require the regular attendance of another person to perform activities of daily living.
