Spotlight: Seniors cook dinner for Boys & Girls Club

Washington Oakes Retirement Community is scheduled to host a dinner at 5 p.m. Friday at the Everett Boys & Girls Club, 2316 12th St., Everett. Therapy offices collect food for NW Harvest

Integrated Rehabilitation Group's physical and hand therapy offices seek food donations for Northwest Harvest through Friday at 2000 Hewitt Ave., Suite 115, Everett. Hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 7 a.m. to noon Tuesday and Thursday.

Snohomish seniors offer holiday bazaar

The Snohomish Senior Center offers a holiday bazaar from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Snohomish Masonic Hall, 602 Ave. B, Snohomish. The first 10 seniors to arrive have the opportunity to work with Reach out to Snohomish Seniors, a student group from Snohomish High School, that plans to help seniors decorate prepared cookies to take home. The event is free; supplies provided.

Marines seek toys for holiday toy drive

The United States Marine Corps invites the public to participate in the Toys for Tots Campaign. Marines plan to greet the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Dec. 13 at Haggen stores in Stanwood, Arlington, Marysville and Lake Stevens. The stores will accept donations of cash and new, unwrapped toys through Dec. 20.

Edmonds seniors offer bazaar and bake sale

The South County Senior Center offers a holiday bazaar and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 220 Railroad Ave., Edmonds.

The event features baked goods, woodworking crafts, fine arts, handmade items including infant and children's clothing, knitted hats and scarves, baby and lap blankets, jewelry and accessories. Admission is free; popcorn and cider will be served.

Some veterans eligible for special pension

Aegis of Bothell wants the public to know that some veterans may be eligible for the aid and attendance special pension, a benefit not dependent on service-related injuries for compensation.

The pension can help pay for care in the home, nursing home or assisted living community for veterans and surviving spouses who require the regular attendance of another person to perform activities of daily living.

VOA seeks sponsors for holiday program

Volunteers of America's Snohomish County Food Distribution Center seeks sponsors for its holiday basket bureau program.

Sponsors provide food for families, children, seniors and people with disabilities who need help during the holidays.

Both individuals and groups are encouraged to sponsor a family or families.
