International night comes to Marysville

YMCA of Snohomish County offers a YMCA International Night on Wednesday.

Enjoy snacks and learn about YMCA World Services at 6 p.m. at the Marysville Family YMCA, 6420 60th Drive NE in Marysville.

Teens offer a free slide show and share their experiences from the YMCA Europe Festival in Prague last summer.

Meet Star Wars characters

From noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Star Wars characters will collect goods for Toys for Tots at Toys R Us, 18601 Alderwood Mall Parkway in Lynnwood.

Flood, insurance talk set in Sultan

FEMA officials will talk about a flood-zone study that could raise insurance premiums for hundreds at a Sultan City Council and Planning Board meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Sultan City Hall, 319 Main St.

Marysville board needs volunteer

Marysville seeks someone to fill a vacancy on its salary commission.

The commission is an independent, seven-member board that conducts annual reviews of compensation for the mayor and City Council members.

The open position is being vacated by Andrew Sandoval, who served the limit of two three-year terms on the board.

Board members must live in Marysville. Anyone interested may submit a letter of interest to assistant administrative services director Tracy Jeffries, Marysville City Hall, 1049 State Ave., Marysville, WA 98270.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Dec. 1.
