Elders and their family members can learn about disease prevention, mental health, warning signs of depression and dementia, and overcoming barriers to health care access and family support services. The workshops will be presented in Spanish, Cantonese, Tagalog, Mandarin, Korean, Russian, Vietnamese and English. Free health care screenings are planned and more than 30 exhibitors are scheduled to present information on services in the community. For more information call 425-290-1275. Immunizations for children available The Community Health Center of Snohomish County hosts annual immunization clinics to help low-income families protect their children from disease. Upcoming dates are from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday. All childhood immunizations are available for $10. The child must be a patient of the nonprofit health care organization or enroll to be a patient in the future. The clinics are at 4111 194th St. SW, Lynnwood; 1019 112th St. SW, Everett; and 1410 Broadway, Everett. For more information call 425-789-3700. Chamber welcomes military families The Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce is finishing a countywide initiative to ensure that Snohomish County is as welcoming as possible to military families. The organization is now working to create a countywide registry of military family-friendly employers.
