Two people in the car, a woman driver and a male passenger, suffered serious injuries and were flown to Harborview Medical Center, said Washington State Patrol Trooper Keith Leary. Several witness told state troopers that the Harley-Davidson was speeding, Leary said. “For a motorcycle to flip a car over – that’s an extreme rate of high speed,” Leary said. None of the names of the accident victims were available Monday night as police sorted through the damage of the wreck. The accident occurred at 7:33 p.m. at Tualco Road and Highway 203 just a few miles south of Monroe, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The woman and the man were in an older model Pontiac Grand Am heading east on Tualco Road. The driver pulled the car onto the highway, Leary said. At the same time, a man riding a Harley-Davidson was heading south on Highway 203. The motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the Pontiac Grand Am. Leary said that investigators were still trying to determine which direction the car was headed as it pulled onto the highway. The accident blocked all lanes of the highway. Traffic was able to move around the wreckage by going on the shoulder late Monday night. The state patrol was on the scene as well as the Monroe Fire Department.
