CONSTRUCTION
Blair Anderson has been hired as government affairs manager for
Barclays North Inc. Anderson, a graduate of Western Washington University
with a degree in economics and a master’s degree in business administration,
will have responsibilities for overseeing Barclays’ government relations
in Monroe, Sultan and several emerging markets. In addition to hiring
Anderson, Barclays also hired Beth Bystedt for the position of
legal secretary and Melanie Sandberg, as the land acquisition coordinator.
EDUCATION
Melissa Helmenstine has been named center director of operations
of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Everett Center. She most recently
was the director of programs and a facilitator with Waterhouse Center,
an outdoor educational facility.
Lisa Neumann
is the new director of Edmonds Community College’s Center for Families.
Neumann was formerly an instructor at Everett Community College and chair
of the early-childhood education department. She also worked for Volunteers
of America’s child-care resource and referral center in Everett.
ENGINEERING &
ENVIRONMENTAL
Lora Moncure has joined Edmonds-based Landau Associates as a project
coordinator; Diane Morin is a new environmental/GIS scientist;
Dana Olcott is a staff geotechnical engineer; Teresa Bellevue
is an executive administrative assistant; Jason Detamore was hired
as a staff scientist; and Nathan Moxley is a new environmental
technician.
Leah Benson
has joined Sparling as a marketing communications specialist.
FINANCIAL
Paul Hurn has been hired as assistant vice president/retail office
manager for Horizon Bank’s newest branch in Marysville. Hurn is currently
in charge of managing all operational aspects of the Marysville branch.
He brings 16 years of experience in both banking and mortgage lending,
most recently with Washington Mutual, where he held a variety of different
positions.
Tom Kelly
has been promoted to branch manager within the Private Client Services
division of the Everett office of Piper Jaffray & Co.
Robert J. Dickson,
board chairman of Frontier Bank and Frontier Financial Corp., recently
was honored by the Tacoma-based Martin Luther King Housing Development
Association. He received the organization’s Alberta J. Canada Community
Service Award for his service and for Frontier Bank’s involvement with
the community, including partnering with the association, which provides
emergency shelter and affordable housing.
Hilary Parker
has been promoted to operations officer at Frontier Bank, and Mary
Reedy has been promoted to assistant trust officer.
Jack Decker, senior
vice president at the D.A. Davidson & Co. office in Everett, and Jeff
Decker, vice president, have been named to the President’s Club.
GOVERNMENT
Ten representatives from the agriculture community were recently named
to the Snohomish County Agriculture Action Plan Advisory Group. Members
include Don Bailey of Bailand Farms Inc. of the Snohomish Valley,
Hank Graafstra of Country Charm Dairy of Arlington, Carolyn
Henri of Resource Consulting Service of Stanwood, Tristan Klesick
of Klesick Family Farm of Stanwood, Jackie Macomber of Macomber
Farm of Granite Falls and chair of the Snohomish County Agricultural Advisory
Board, Linda Neunzig of Ninety Farms of the Stillaguamish Valley,
Dale Reiner of Reiner Farm of Tualco Valley and president of the
Snohomish County Farm Bureau, Keith Stocker of Stocker Farms of
the Snohomish Valley, Mick Lovgreen of Twin Cities Foods Inc. of
Stanwood and Rick Williams of Williams Farm of the Stillaguamish
Valley.
Lonnie McBride
has received the 2004 Everett Public Works Employee Recognition Award.
Thomas Fitzpatrick
has been hired as an executive director within Snohomish County government
and will have oversight of the county’s planning and development services,
economic development initiatives, Paine Field and other areas of government.
He also will be the county’s representative in the 2005 round of the federal
Base Realignment and Closure Commission. For the past five years Fitzpatrick
has been the assistant chief of the civil division in the Snohomish County
Prosecutor’s Office.
HEALTH CARE
Dr. John Goodman has been named to the board of directors for The
Everett Clinic. His duties will include governance, corporate compliance,
board development and leadership education, and fiduciary responsibility
and accountability for The Everett Clinic. Goodman joined The Everett
Clinic in 2001.
MARKETING
Tammi Bryant has been hired as director of marketing for the Everett
Events Center. She replaces Eric Blankenship, who has been transferred
to Global Spectrum-managed Rose Garden in Portland, Ore. Bryant previously
served as director of marketing for House of Blues Concerts in Denver,
Colo., which operated and marketed venues Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre
and the historic Paramount Theatre.
REAL ESTATE
Barbara McMahon of the John L. Scott Edmonds office recently was
recognized as a recipient of the company’s President’s Elite award, which
goes to the top-producing agents at John L. Scott that have successfully
closed at least 48 transactions throughout the year. Also, Karim Khoury
and Darryl Lewis are the owners and operators of a new John L.
Scott Real Estate franchise office in downtown Edmonds. Khoury is a licensed
real estate broker and certified public accountant. Lewis also is a licensed
real estate agent and certified public accountant.
Sales associate Steven
Dolley has joined Preview Properties Inc.’s Bothell office; sales
associates Troy Halpin, Adrean Rudie-Sprague, Oksana Anischenko, John
McElroy and Jesse Eline have joined the company’s Everett office;
and sales associates Lynny Ross, Beverly Darling, Jeffrey Snyder, Peggy
Fisher and Shelby Nurmi have joined Preview’s Marysville office.
TECHNOLOGY
Annette Jacobs, president and CEO of SafeHarbor Technology Corporation,
has joined the board of directors of the WSA.
Jim Richey
has been named senior adviser of business development for Lumera Corp.,
and Dr. Charles Campbell has been appointed to its scientific advisory
board.
