Becky Foster, co-owner of Bruce & Becky’s Home Furnishings in Arlington, has been chosen Citizen of the Year by the Smokey Point Area Chamber of Commerce for her civic work in Arlington, Marysville and the Smokey Point Chamber and business community. As well as handling public relations for the Smokey Point Chamber, she serves on the Marysville Planning Commission, the board of directors of the Jim Lambright Foundation and entertains at corporate functions and weddings with her band of 26 years — the A-Band. She and her husband, Bruce, have two sons. She began her home-furnishings business in 1978 and moved to her present location on Smokey Point Boulevard in 1984.

The Snohomish County Council recently announced committee assignments for council members. They are: Jeff Sax, Chair of the Law & Justice/Human Services Committee; John Koster, Chair of the Planning & Community Development Committee; Kirke Sievers, Chair of the Finance & Economic Development Committee; Dave Gossett, Chair of the Operations Committee; and Gary Nelson, Chair of the Transportation & Public Works Committee.

Christine Pfiester has been promoted to Operations Officer at the Mill Creek office of Frontier Bank. Dan Gadbois has been promoted to Vice President of Branch Operations at Frontier’s main office. Becky Reimer has been promoted to Assistant Vice President in the Private Banking office at Frontier.

Sarah Hale has been promoted to General Manager of the Papa John’s pizza site at 617 128th St. SW in Everett.

Holly Hughes, Chair of the English Department at Edmonds Community College, received this year’s Echelbarger/Sherman Exceptional Faculty Award, given in recognition of outstanding teaching and service to students. In recognizing Hughes, Rick Asher, Dean of the Humanities and Social Sciences Division at the college, praised Hughes for the depth of experience she brings to her position, her graceful leadership and the quality of her instruction.

Dr. Jeremy Reifsnyder has joined Advanced Chiropractic in Everett, which now has two full-time doctors, three massage therapists and a full-time insurance handler.

Regina Neighbors has joined the Village Theatre at the Everett Performing Arts Center as a Development Associate. She will be responsible for corporate and individual community relations throughout Snohomish County as well as fund-raising and grant writing activities.

Integrex Chairman John Carleton will take on the additional duties of chief executive of the Bothell company, which makes electronic parts on contract. He replaces Ted Volberding, who will fill the new position of Chief Technical Officer.

Dr. Gregory Gosch of Marysville has completed the Esthetics Continuum course at The Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education in Key Biscayne, Fla., a weeklong class for experienced dentists who are training extensively in specialized techniques for optimizing patients’ long-term oral health, comfort, function and appearance.

The NSIS Higher Education Consortium has hired Gina Murray as the Coordinator of Student Services at Everett Station’s University Center. Murray brings 10 years of advising and recruiting experience to the consortium, which includes Central Washington University, Eastern Washington University, Washington State University, Western Washington University and The University of Washington as well as Edmonds, Everett and Skagit Valley community colleges.

Sheryl Hughey has been appointed Director of IT Professional Development for the Puget Sound Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology. Hughey will be responsible for developing and directing technical training programs as well as working with corporations to develop and deliver customized information-technology training solutions.

Barb Gish, who specializes in the treatment of burns, post-surgical upper extremity cases, splinting and ergonomics, has joined Cascade Rehabilitation Associates’ Colby clinic. Michelle Martin, who specializes in the treatment of acute traumatic hand injuries, cumulative trauma disorders and ergonomic education, has joined Cascade’s Silver Lake clinic. Cascade therapists Sunny Pickrell, Joanne Haberman, Brett Johnson, Angela Bettencourt, Rebecca Rainwater, Stephanie Kiel and Michelle Martin recently passed certification for Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization treatment.

Summit Rehabilitation therapists Rita Chebowski and Mike Weeks recently passed certification for Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization treatment.

Phoenix Savings Bank loan officers Priscilla Crutcher, Connie Zinter, John Mead, Rob Sullivan, Larry Enselman, Valerie DiIenno and Aaron Fairchild have been named to President’s Club 2002.

Regence BlueShield recently named Elna Ward its Employee of the Year. Ward, an Everett resident and a trainer in the company’s Organizational Department, was selected in part for her work with Team Regence, an in-house organization that conducts fund-raising campaigns for charitable causes and recruits volunteers to work in the community, according to Community Relations Manager Jodi Coffey.

Mary Surdyk has joined Windermere Real Estate’s Marysville office as an associate broker. She previously was a sales associate with John L. Scott in Lake Stevens. Kyle Woods has joined the Marysville office as a sales associate. He previously was with Maersk-Pacific Ltd. of Tacoma.

Souheil Nasr has joined Perteet Engineering Inc.’s Civil/Site Engineering team as a Senior Project Manager.
