Everett Industrial Supply, Tacoma company plan merger

Herald Business Journal Staff

Everett Industrial Supply, founded in 1944, is being sold to Stellar Industrial Supply of Tacoma, with the closing of the transaction set for March 31. Terms of the agreement were not released.

Company President Dan Kure said the sale “makes a great deal of sense for all concerned,” noting that he’s confident the move is a “very positive direction for our company and ... of great benefit to our customers, employees and vendors.”

After the two firms merge, Stellar will have 85 employees and five branches, two in Everett and one each in Seattle, Ferndale and Tri-Cities.

John Wilborg, President of Stellar Industrial Supply, called Everett Industrial Supply “an excellent company with a reputation for providing ... quality products at the highest service levels (with) experienced and dedicated employees.

“The merger will make Stellar one of the largest independent maintenance, repair and operation supply companies in Washington,” he said.

Everett Industrial Supply is headquartered in Everett, with an additional distribution facility near Snohomish County Airport/Paine Field to serve a large supply contract. Also, a major vendor-managed inventory program serves a large marine customer with manufacturing sites throughout the country.

The company provides supplies to the aerospace, marine, forest products and petrochemical industries, municipalities, federal government agencies and general industrial and manufacturing firms throughout the state.

Stellar Industrial Supply, founded in 1988, distributes more than 26,000 supply items to general industry and construction companies, including hand tools, power tools, cutting tools, abrasives, paints, shop supplies and construction supplies in the state.
