Learn to build
a profitable Web site — July 9

The Seattle Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training will present “How to Make Money While You Sleep,” a discussion on tips and tricks for building a profitable retail Web site, at its July 9 breakfast roundtable. The program will run from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the SBA Business Enterprise Center, 1200 Sixth Ave., Suite 1700, in downtown Seattle, and will include a small-business success story, a training session and networking. Cost to attend is $20 for advance registration ($15 for members of sponsor organizations), and $30 at the door ($25 for members of sponsor organizations). Export business-strategy
seminar — July 14

The U.S. Commercial Service and FedEx have teamed up to host a free international trade seminar July 14 at the Everett Events Center, with attendees learning about the benefits, opportunities and resources that exporting can offer their businesses. Topics will include: assessing a company's readiness to export, finding and selecting a foreign market and foreign representation, setting and quoting export price, export financing, FedEx Global Trade Manager, new SED AES filing requirement, movement of hazardous materials and cargo security in the sky . Workshop on selling
to the government — July 21

The Washington State Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises will give businesses an overview of contracting with state and federal agencies during a free introductory seminar from 9:30 a.m. to noon July 21 at the NW Women’s Business Center, 728 134th St. SW, Suite 219, in Everett. Identity-theft
presentation — July 28

The Seattle Chapter of the American Society of Women Accountants will hold a dinner meeting July 28 at the College Club of Seattle, 505 Madison St., with Stephanie Clark of KeyBank giving a presentation on identity theft. The event starts with a social hour at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the presentation. Cost is $25 for ASWA members and faculty, $27 for guests, $17 for student members, $19 for student guests and $3 for coffee only.
