Barb Lamoureux is
Snohomish County’s Realtor of the Year for 2003.
Lamoureux, who owns
a Windermere brokerage in Everett, received the honor at the recent annual
awards dinner for the county’s real estate association.
The award is presented
each year to someone who shows a devotion to local communities, advocates
home ownership and promotes the association’s code of ethics.
Lamoureux was selected
for her leadership, said Keith Biever, the recipient of the award in 2002.
“One minute she can
be an outspoken critic on an important public issue, like the possible
siting of the SBX radar in Port Gardner Bay; the next minute she can be
a quiet but powerful force behind the scenes for an important charitable
event,” Biever said at the recent awards dinner.
“She doesn’t shy
away from political involvement, and she is an ardent supporter of RPAC
(the real estate political action committee),” he said.
Biever went on to
laud Lamoureux for a “legendary” work ethic, noting that she volunteers
for a variety of programs and civic activities, from Housing Hope to the
association’s annual fund-raising golf tournament.
“Those who play in
it have all the fun,” he said. “Little do we understand the time and effort
that Barb and her crew put in to make it a success.”
